Vice-moderator takes new call

Landon Whitsitt, vice-moderator of the 219th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and a pastor from Missouri, has been elected as the new executive and stated clerk of the Synod of Mid-America.

Whitsitt, a 2005 graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, has been pastor of First Church in Liberty, Mo. He serves on the PC(USA)’s Committee on Theological Education and is the author of the new book “Open Source Church.” Whitsitt begins his new position on Aug. 1, succeeding Nancy Kahaian, who has served as interim synod executive.
