The funding of nearly $300,000 will support a diverse range of new ministries in the Presbyterian Church, (U.S.A)’s 1001 worshiping communities movement—where the majority of participants are young, racially diverse and new to the denomination.
Six grant recipients will receive $7,500 seed grants as start-up funding for their new worshiping community.
Nine will receive $25,000 investment grants—given to communities who previously received a seed grant and are fully living into the definition of what a new worshiping community is.
Two recipients, Iglesia Presbiteriana, in Cypress Lake, Florida, and Woven Community in Fresno, California will receive $25,000 growth grants—given to worshiping communities that have received seed and investments, and are working towards becoming PC(USA) congregations.
Seed Grant proposals can be submitted to mission program grants for consideration at any time.
Investment and Growth grant proposals submitted by July 15, will be reviewed on August 10, with additional reviews scheduled in October, with a proposal September 16 deadline, and November, with an October 14 deadline.
A ministry synopsis of each worshiping community grant recipient, selected by the Mission Development Resources Committee of the Presbyterian Mission Agency, can be found by clicking here.
