LOUISVILLE (PNS) Each year, more than a hundred Presbyterian elders, pastors, executives and lay leaders gather to pray, worship and learn how to help people during the worst times of their lives. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance recently hosted its 21st National Response Team (NRT) annual gathering. This year, volunteers from all over the country, met in Atlanta, Georgia to re-connect and learn how they can best serve churches and communities in the midst of disaster.
“It certainly exceeded my expectations. It was my first year as coordinator and the transition to a new associate always brings with it some challenges,” said Jim Kirk, PDA’s associate for national disaster response. “The transition from volunteer to associate was significant and it gave me a chance to be a facilitator of our volunteers.”
