Associate pastor

First Presbyterian Church is located 20 miles west of Charlotte in the Piedmont of North Carolina, less than 2 hours from the mountains and 4 hours from the beach. Our church is an active, large church in its local sphere.  Our senior minister has been with us for over two years, and we recently welcomed our newest staff member for faith formation. Our congregation actively worships in two services: a contemporary worship service we call “Thrive” as well as our traditional service. Membership has seen steady growth in recent years. Our congregation is committed to using its individual gifts of time and treasure for a variety of local, regional, and international mission work. The associate pastor will work closely with the senior pastor in serving, guiding and teaching the congregation. Specific assignments include preaching the Word of God, leadership for pastoral care, leadership for mission work, staff liaison for our diaconate and leadership and administration for communications. We seek an associate pastor who is joyfully led by the Spirit with the desire to engage our members in living out our mission as a community of faith.
