Rev. TJ Remaley installed as pastor of Southminster, Boise
The Presbytery of Boise and Southminster Presbyterian Church of Boise, Idaho, gathered for a service of worship on Sunday, June 19, 2022, to give glory to God and celebrate the installation of the Rev. TJ Remaley as their new pastor.
TJ [he/him] graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in technology education, and a minor in technical theatre. He received both a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. He also holds a post-baccalaureate certificate in patient counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2021, TJ completed the diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace certification from the University of South Florida.
A lifelong Presbyterian, born and raised in South Central Pennsylvania, TJ entered ordained ministry in 2014. Prior to being called to Southminster, he served congregations in South Carolina and Florida. In addition to preaching, pastoral care and administration, his ministry has emphasized faith formation, family ministry and mission. He feels particularly called to the work of justice and advocacy and has participated in efforts for interfaith dialogue, racial injustice, migrant farmworker ministry, and LGBTQIA+ equality.
TJ loves the connectional nature of the PC(USA), and he is committed to serving the larger church. Currently, he serves on the Leadership Council of the Association of Partners in Christian Education, as well as on the Board of Directors of Covenant Network of Presbyterians.
TJ and his wife Megan were high school sweethearts, and they have been married for 11 years. They are proud parents of a joyful and energetic 5-year-old named Layton. In their free time, they love to visit local coffee shops, try new recipes, explore the theater scene, watch Disney movies, and snuggle up with their two rascally cats Amos and Fiyero.
