LOUISVILLE — All Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) mission personnel in Pakistan are reported safe after the latest bombing in Lahore, which killed at least 22 people and injured scores more today (Jan. 10).
The blast took place outside the High Court Building in downtown Lahore, where a group of lawyers continue to protest government actions in the wake of the Dec. 27 assassination of former Prime Minister and opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.
The Rev. Insik Kim, the PC (USA)’s coordinator for East Asia/Pacific, told the Presbyterian News Service he spoke with a PC (USA) mission worker and a PC (USA) partner from the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan shortly after the deadly bomb explosion.
Kim said he learned that the Presbyterian-related Forman Christian College locked its gates as a safety precaution. Several streets in Lahore are also closed.
