Fury and fear latched my conscience,
which the dream’s angel pried
discovering and making room within.
Observing security lax
Mary’s reported intruder Gabriel
ceased the urgent knocking,
took my opened door as welcome,
and made himself at home,
cozy in an adjoining chamber.
With dawn we married.
By all else since the child’s birth, I know still
that in matters of love everything’s possible
and good assured.
