Today is one of those days when we individually, collectively, remember where we were when.
God admonishes us to remember.
Remember you were once slaves in Egypt.
Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.
Remember I was with you in the wilderness.
Do this in remembrance of me.
We are to remember, individually, collectively, where we were on this day in order to remember the ones for whom this day marks a life altering loss. We pray comfort for those who mourn. We pray peace for those for whom there is no peace. We pray that our memories will move us to act with compassion and love for we are reminded that any day could become the day when we remember where we where when.
