Lord of all nations and peoples, we delight in the depth and breadth of your church. We give thanks for multiple languages, cultures and traditions.
When we gather and hear your Word in a variety of languages, we are reminded of Pentecost and the coming of the promised Holy Spirit. We recognize that by the power of your wind and flame we are tethered to Christians of all places and times, past, present and future. We rejoice that we are united through Christ. We remember that Jesus gives his followers an Advocate, to comfort, console, guide and empower.
As we seek your will today and this week, quiet in us any voice but your own. Silence our personal preferences and free us to take up your yoke in order to walk beside you into your good future. Amen.
