The board of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation has named Mike Miller the acting senior director of shared services and chief financial officer for the A Corporation.

The A Corporation is the corporate entity for the Presbyterian Mission Agency and the Office of the General Assembly. Miller previously served as acting director of shared services for the Presbyterian Mission Agency. In his new role, he will report to the A Corporation board.
The decision to move forward with hiring a chief financial officer didn’t come up specifically during the reconfigured A Corporation board’s first meeting, held Sept. 4-5 in Louisville.
On Sept. 15, the board held a closed meeting, although no public notice was given of it, and took action to empower its co-chairs, Bridgett-Anne Hampden and Chris Mason, “to negotiate a one-year contract for the CFO position with an identified individual.”
Now an announcement has been made via Presbyterian News Service that Miller has been hired. That announcement states: “Within the coming year, an inclusive national search process – required by the General Assembly for leadership positions – will be conducted to name a permanent Chief Financial Officer. Miller is eligible to apply for this position.”
Earline Williams, who had served as deputy executive director and chief financial officer of the Presbyterian Mission Agency, left that rolein November 2017 to move to Philadelphia. The announcement regarding Miller’s new position is a new configuration on the organizational chart, but he will still be responsible for shared services within the Presbyterian Mission Agency.
