Lord, our prayers choke in our throats as we desperately try to find the words to express our horror and grief at yet one more murderous act of hate inflicted on your people as they worship you. What can be said, screamed or groaned that would transform the hearts of those who kill out of fear instead of following your commandment to love you and our neighbors?
God of all, help us, we plead. Bring relief to the suffering. Embrace those who mourn. Flood the earth with your light that both exposes evil and draws people to you, to your mercy, to your loving kindness, your shalom. Make us ambassadors of reconciliation until every tribe and nation joins together in praise to you. Amen.
