Podcast review: “We Can Do Hard Things”

“Each week we will bring our hard to you and we will ask you to bring your hard to us and we will do what we were all meant to do down here: help each other carry the hard so we can all live a little bit lighter and braver, more free and less alone.”

Host: Glennon Doyle

Every episode of this podcast reminds me of the importance of showing up with my most real self and holding space for those around me to do the same. “We Can Do Hard Things” has become a beautiful mantra for difficult days. The podcast has been out for a year now and is the one podcast I listen to on a weekly basis. I try to spend my Tuesday and Thursday mornings with a cup of coffee and the voices of Glennon, her sister Amanda, her wife Abby Wambach and various guests.

Each installment walks through the honest realities of life and does so in a way that is authentic. Glennon says it best, “Each week we will bring our hard to you and we will ask you to bring your hard to us and we will do what we were all meant to do down here: help each other carry the hard so we can all live a little bit lighter and braver, more free and less alone.” And we all need this lesson. Because when we are reminded that there is always a community to rally behind us, even when they feel alone, then we honor God’s design for beloved community.
