Louisville — Kathy Lueckert, president of Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), A Corporation since 2019, has announced she plans to retire Jan. 31, 2025, and return to the staff of Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village, Kansas.
During its meeting last week, the A Corp Board accepted the announcement of Lueckert’s retirement. “Serving as A Corporation president has been an incredible experience and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to work with all of you,” she told the board during the closed session portion of the meeting, adding, “every season comes to an end.”
“I believe I have accomplished what I set out to do when I became president in 2019: getting [the Administrative Work Group] on an even keel; establishing good relationships with client partners and other agencies; and providing a steady, non-anxious presence in ASG’s work to help ministries flourish.”
She noted ASG has “weathered Covid, upgraded the financial system, successfully completed a building renovation, hosted the General Assembly, launched and established Global Language Resources, vastly improved cybersecurity, achieved [Payment Card Industry] compliance, integrated Ministry Engagement and Support into ASG, consulted on thorny legal issues, developed a Technology Roadmap and are on the verge of delivering a crucial assist in the launch of a new website,” as well as “so many other behind-the-scenes accomplishments, major research studies, and the daily work required to support our client partners.”
Lueckert plans to remain in the office until Jan. 10, 2025. “I give thanks to God for you and what we’ve been able to accomplish together,” she told the board. “God is in the midst, and may God give you peace and keep you safe.”
