Randy Harris concludes service with Outlook

Randy Harris, pastor of Highland Church in Winston-Salem, N.C., and book editor for The Presbyterian Outlook since April 2005, concludes his service as book editor with this issue of the magazine.

“I was very much honored when Ben Sparks invited me to serve in this position, and have truly enjoyed working with Jack Haberer and the staff of the Outlook,” Harris says. “I’ve had the great privilege of reading alongside reviewers, publishers, authors, and editors in an effort to highlight resources for the church that strengthen the church’s worshiping, learning, caring, and serving life.”

By his best estimate, Harris has worked with more than one hundred reviewers, and has written and edited brief notes for nearly 300 books. He will continue his pastoral duties and his work in the D.Min. program at Columbia Theological Seminary.

“There is much that I will miss about this work, especially the people with whom I’ve served, but I am ready to pass the baton,” adds Harris. “I’m excited that Roy Howard will be the next book review editor; he is truly a gifted reader and writer, and readers of the Outlook will benefit greatly from his work.”
