Whitsitt, a 2005 graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, has been pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Liberty, Missouri. He serves on the PC(USA)’s Committee on Theological Education and is the author of the new book “Open Source Church.“
Whitsitt will succeed Nancy Kahaian, who has served as interim synod executive, and will begin his new position with the synod on Aug. 1.
