4th moderator candidate: Randy Branson

A fourth candidate has been endorsed to stand for moderator of the 220th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). All four announced so far are teaching elders.

Palo Duro Presbytery has endorsed Randolph R. “Randy” Branson, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Graham, Texas

He has previously served congregations in Arlington and Baytown, Texas, and in San Pedro, Calif. He also is involved with youth ministry through synod youth workshops in the Synod of the Sun and at Mo-Ranch Conference Center. He has twice served as a General Assembly commissioner.

Branson, a native of Oklahoma, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering physics from the University of Oklahoma and received a master in divinity degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary. He currently serves as moderator of Palo Duro Presbytery, where he also previously served as moderator of the Committee on Ministry and in other leadership roles.

He is a member of the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.
