A group organizing a graduate-level theology school has secured $4.5 million in pledges of land and money to build a campus near Montana State University.
The group, tentatively called the Yellowstone Theological Institute, will meet June 7 to complete the process of applying for tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service.
Members of its board of directors will also formalize the organization’s mission statement and tackle several other questions relating to how it will function, said John Franke, who currently works as theologian-in-residence at the First Presbyterian Church in Allentown, Pa. He’ll join the institute as professor of missional theology.
