Blazek ordained to Outlook

The Presbytery of Chicago has ordained Jana Blazek as a teaching elder to serve as associate editor for connection at the Presbyterian Outlook.

On July 7, the Presbytery of Chicago ordained Blazek to work in this specialized ministry –  thought to be the first ordination in the Outlook’s 195-year history. A graduate of the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree and Masters of Arts in missions, Blazek is responsible at the Outlook for everything from webinars to social media to managing online content. She also works as an associate editor for Call to Worship, a quarterly publication for worship leaders published by the Office of Theology and Worship of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Blazek was ordained at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights, her home congregation, with Timothy Slemmons, an assistant professor of homiletics and worship at Dubuque seminary, preaching.  Outlook editor Jack Haberer delivered the charge to the congregation.
