Temporary leadership of Presbyterian Mission Agency extended

The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board’s executive committee has voted to extend the temporary leadership of Earline Williams and Barry Creech, who this summer had been named temporary co-managers of the Presbyterian Mission Agency until an interim executive director is found.

Meeting by conference call Sept. 9, the executive committee voted to extend the appointments of Williams and Creech until an interim executive director begins work or the board’s February 3-5, 2016 meeting, whichever comes first. If that action hadn’t been taken, the temporary appointments were due to expire at the board’s next meeting, September 23-25, 2015.

The executive committee made the temporary appointments after Linda Valentine, who had been the agency’s executive director, announced that she was leaving that position, effective July 10, 2015.

Williams has been the agency’s deputy executive director of shared services and the PC(USA)’s chief financial officer since July 2013. Creech is the director of policy, administration and board support.

The board (acting in its corporate capacity) also voted to advance $120,000 from the capital reserve budget for emergency roof replacements at Stony Point Conference Center. The funds are to be repaid over a 10-year period.
