What’s right with your church? Greer, South Carolina

FPCGreerclassStory and photos by Harriet Williams, ruling elder

I love how our church mixes the generations. It has been a joy to get to know young families and their children, newlyweds, college students, as well as members in their 80s and 90s.

Our church actively promotes getting to know people who span the generations. Each week as we enter for worship, we are greeted by ushers ranging from fifth graders to 50-year-olds. It is a joy to see a middle-schooler passing the offering plate with her parent. Sunday school mixers, a time when classes meet together, allow first graders to interpret Scripture with octogenarians. This summer we will take our fifth intergenerational international mission trip that allows team members — spanning in age from teens to seventies — the opportunity to serve, worship and fellowship together.

FPCGreermissionOur relationships go deeper than merely waving in the hallways; we are binding together as a Christ-called community.
