The youth group from Central Pres in Atlanta is on a mission – to learn and to serve at GA and around Portland.
For Mills, 14, it was both his first trip to Portland and his first General Assembly. He is one of 16 youth and five adults who traveled to Portland from Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.
“So far being here is really cool – it is a great way to see the whole community,” shared Mills. Plus, he added, “there’s lots of free stuff!”
The youth sang in the worship services at First Presbyterian Church before heading to ‘Potluck in the Park’ – a meal for more than 500 people experiencing homelessness. They also volunteered at Dignity Village and the Oregon Food Bank as well as served communion during the assembly worship services on Wednesday.
