What is right about the churches of Zalmona and Rossville Presbyterian (yoked congregations in Waukon, Iowa) is that the Spirit of God is present and the people here are seeking to listen and respond to the Spirit’s leading and God’s voice. Our churches seek to do this through acts of giving, and so express love and compassion. Meals are prepared and delivered to those who are more homebound or who are going through a challenging time. Offerings are collected to provide gas cards or help with groceries. There are generous and faith-filled hearts present in these places. Love and encouragement are shared between members. We participate in community meals and offer our finances, our prayers and ourselves to different mission outreaches. And though we may be smaller congregations, we continue to gather faithfully to worship, to seek to serve and to listen for where God’s voice is leading us next.
