(PNS) The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board (PMAB) committee that is searching for a new executive director of the Presbyterian Mission Agency (PMA) wants to hear from all Presbyterians. The committee is seeking input not only from board members, mid council members and agency staff; it also wants input from those who teach Sunday school, deliver sermons, serve on committees and attend services at PC(USA) churches.
The committee wants to know the characteristics that Presbyterians think are necessary to lead the Presbyterian Mission Agency through this time of dynamic change for the Church. The committee invites input through a brief, two-question survey. Click here to access the survey.
“Hearing from all constituencies is important, and taking their ideas into account as we oversee the development of the position profile is critical to the success of this search,” said Nancy Ramsay, chair of the search committee.
The Presbyterian Mission Agency Board recently elected the following members to serve on the search committee: Bong Bringas, Sinthia Hernandez-Diaz, Chip Low, Nancy Ramsay, Alice Ridgill, Patsy Smith and Wendy Tajima. PMAB Chair Ken Godshall and General Assembly Co-Moderator Jan Edmiston will serve as ex-officio members.
The survey is an important first step in building a position profile. The search committee has also sent a request for proposals from search firms to identify the best fit for the Mission Agency’s culture and goals. The committee expects to launch the search in late June or early July.

Tony De La Rosa will continue to serve as the interim executive director through this process. He began serving in the position in December 2015. His contract was recently extended to December 2017.
