The recent Super Bowl reminds me of a wonderful offering started by a church in South Carolina on the Sunday of the Super Bowl. Everybody brought a can of soup to fill the church larder for those in need. The offering, which now operates in hundreds of Presbyterian churches, comes in many forms – all done without national help, expensive brochures and offering envelopes. It’s just an offering voluntarily filled with love.
