You call us, Lord of all, to keep awake, to watch and be ready, to be on alert for the in-breaking of the holy in our midst and the rattling of the divine in our hearts. Our knowledge is limited — you tell us that, too. We can’t know the day and the hour when the Son of Man will come, but we can trust your word that God’s plans will not be thwarted and come again you will. This week of all weeks, may we heed your instruction to keep awake, to watch and be ready, to be on alert for the disruptive Holy One who comes to set things right. Amen.
