Lord, we trust your Spirit to work through and within us. We believe the promise that the Spirit gives us the right words at the right time, reminding us of all that Jesus taught. We rejoice in the truth that you are always doing a new thing, even if we cannot yet perceive it.
Despite our faith in your power, we come to this season weary and unsure how to fulfill your call within the constraints of our current context. So much of what we treasured about our life in the Body of Christ is rendered impossible right now. Those gatherings that feed us not only physically, but spiritually, cannot happen if we are to keep one another safe from the spread of the coronavirus. We miss singing with abandon beside our siblings in Christ. We wonder when we will be able to again participate in the rituals that shape and ground us.
As we continue on this journey of faith virtually and via video, or in small, socially-distanced, masked groups, or with phone calls and notes, we ask you to make your presence evident to us no matter how we worship, learn and serve. Strengthen us. Help us to encourage one another. Form us into a better likeness of our Savior. Do not let us lag in zeal for your gospel. Surround us with the whole communion of the saints until that time we see each other and see you face to face. Amen.
