What’s right about Community Presbyterian Church?

Community Presbyterian Church — Payson, Arizona

Even those out of school can celebrate a new school year! On August 1, Community Presbyterian Church celebrated the new school year with a family worship service, a blessing of backpacks and ice cream. To help engage the members (who had been out of school for a long time), we included a school supply drive called “Bulge the Backpack.”

Members brought school supplies to fill a large backpack to the brim for the elementary school next door. Other churches provided backpacks with school supplies for the start of the year; we wanted to provide supplies that could be used throughout the year. Pencils, crayons, rulers, binders and sanitizing wipes were among the items donated. Julia Randall Elementary School was thrilled to receive the items.
