We are excited to introduce Dartinia Hull as the Presbyterian Outlook’s new managing editor, beginning January 4, 2023. An award-winning writer with publication credits in Next Avenue, CNN, The Bitter Southerner, MUTHA Magazine, iPondr, The Charlotte Observer, The Charleston Post and Courier and the Presbyterian Outlook, Hull will be working with Outlook contributors to develop their writing and engage readers through their stories. Hull’s journalism experience working the national desk at the Charlotte Observer will aid her in overseeing the Outlook’s independent news coverage. Her experience in print and digital media as the digital community and communications manager for First Presbyterian Church of Charlotte and digital and web producer for iPondr added to her unique qualifications for the Outlook’s new managing editor position.
In her application, Hull described her journalistic gifts as “clarity of voice and the breakdown of complex issues. I often see connections that I believe paint a broader picture of a particular issue.”
As managing editor, Hull is also excited to oversee the production of the Outlook’s print magazine. “One of my happy places is at the intersection of creativity and production, in putting puzzle pieces together, and getting a beautiful, thoughtful product out the door. And you probably can tell that I love to write and am not afraid of tough topics.” She went on to describe her passion for “encouraging relevant storytelling in a variety of forms, which is exactly what I’m loving in the Outlook.”
Welcome to the Presbyterian Outlook, Dartinia! We are excited to have you as part of our team!
