Revised Common Lectionary
The Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) was developed in 1994 as an ecumenical effort to provide a shared structure for worship across Christian denominations. It draws on older lectionaries, particularly the Roman Catholic Lectionary and the Consultation on Common Texts (CCT), to offer a three-year cycle of readings—one for each liturgical year (A, B, and C)—covering the Old Testament, Psalms, Epistles, and Gospels. Its goal is to encourage a more consistent, uniform approach to Scripture readings, fostering greater unity among Christian traditions while honoring the diversity of their worship practices.
