A new mid-career residency program for PC(USA) pastors

Omaha Presbyterian Seminary Foundation's Synergos Pastoral Residency helps mid-career PC(USA) pastors discern and understand their ministry in a new way.

Dwelling in the Spirit

Transforming in Place

The Synergos Pastoral Residency through the Omaha Presbyterian Seminary Foundation opens its program to mid-career PC(USA) Ministers of Word and Sacrament who are in the midst of discerning and understanding their calling to ministry in a new way.

The Synergos Pastoral Residency program will accept applications from PCUSA Ministers of Word and Sacrament who find themselves at a vocational crossroads. Selected ministers will begin their residencies in fall 2025, actively pastoring a congregation with time carved out for personal vocational growth and discernment.

While serving a Synergos congregation, ministers will have the opportunity to work toward an academic advancement program of their choice. Possibilities may include spiritual direction certification, coaching certification, Doctorate of Ministry, Master of Public Administration, certificate in leadership, or another approved program.

During the two-year residency period, the resident ministers will work with their Synergos churches as the churches also discern their next steps in ministry. Synergos congregations are PCUSA congregations located in the Synod of the Rocky Mountains: Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah.

Resident ministers will receive individual coaching to gain clarity about where God is leading them next. They will also receive training to serve as guides to their current congregations and to equip ministers with tools that can be beneficial to presbyteries and regions where they may serve in the future.

We are excited about this new direction, and we hope you are, too. Please join with us in spreading the word about this program for mid-career ministers who are entering into the process of career discernment.
