Presbyterian Outlook wins 3 press awards

CHICAGO The 2010 redesign of the Presbyterian Outlook received the Award of Merit at the 95th annual “Best of the Christian Press” competition sponsored by the Associated Church Press (ACP), the oldest religious press association in North America.

The Outlook received an award of excellence in magazine photography for a photo by Erin Dunigan of a Palestinian child surrounded by Israeli border guards. The Outlook’s “Faith Matters” by Pulitzer Prize winner Bill Tammeus received honorable mention for columnists.

Three official PC(USA) publications also were recognized.

The Presbyterian News Service received the award of merit among religion news services and honorable mentions for theme series, in-depth coverage and news story. Horizons Magazine received an award of merit as best in class among special interest magazines, an award of excellence in the personal experience category and honorable mention for a feature article. Presbyterians Today received honorable mention in the denominational magazines category.
