An evening with the Outlook: Meet the candidates standing for moderator

For years, the Presbyterian Outlook has created a space for commissioners and the public to meet those standing for moderator. It’s an opportunity for us to share what’s been going on at the Outlook, honor those who’ve made contributions to the church and fundraise for the coming year.

But most importantly, it’s a chance for us to be together.

Outlook editor Teri McDowell Ott will host a conversation with the candidates standing for moderator of the 225^th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Since this event typically serves as a fundraiser for the Outlook’s ministry, participation is donation-based. Your donation helps us report on this year’s General Assembly and the changes that surround it.

Shavon C. Starling-Louis — Teaching elder and pastor of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, in the Presbytery of Charlotte

Josefina Ahumada — Commissioned ruling elder, moderator, and pulpit supply at Papago United Presbyterian Church in Sells, Arizona, on the Tohono O’Odham Reservation in the Presbytery de Cristo. Her home church is Southside Presbyterian Church in Tucson, Arizona.
Marilyn McKelvey Tucker-Marek — Teaching elder, pastor of Forsyth Presbyterian Church in Forsyth, Georgia, and pastor of the UKirk campus ministry at the Mercer University campus in Macon, Georgia, in the Flint River Presbytery
