Film in review: “Ted”

“Ted” might have been a clever idea, except it settled for being lazy and cheesy. Yes, a teddy bear with a trash mouth is wickedly charming for oh, about five minutes. After that, there needs to be something more to hold the movie together besides the relational dynamic of immature middle-aged man (Mark Wahlberg) trying to grow up for his increasingly impatient girlfriend (Mila Kunis).

“Ted” is a foul-mouthed, smarmy comedy skit that lasted too long and got very stale.

Ronald P. Salfen is the minister of St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church in Irving, Texas.
