(The Washington Post) As a Christian theologian, I gladly accepted the invitation to speak at the conference “Secularism on the Edge: The Church and The State in the United States, France, and Israel.” The reason I did is that I believe people of faith need to wake up and realize that they must defend secularism as absolutely indispensible to protect freedom of religion.
