Newport Presbyterian Church — Bellevue, Washington

David Meekhof served as the founding pastor of Newport Presbyterian Church from 1959-1969.

David Yeaworth served from 1970-1981, during which time the church was active in the support of refugees and continued to grow in fellowship and service.

Dennis Hughes followed from 1982-1989. While serving as pastor, Dennis worked on liturgical resources for the denomination leading to the publication of the Presbyterian Book of Common Worship in 1993.

Under the leadership of Gary Schwab from 1991-2002, the church participated in building homes with Habitat for Humanity and created a safe and supportive environment for the LGBT community.

Jim Patten served Newport from 2004-2014, continuing the church’s warm welcome of children and youth in worship participation and leadership, and leaving a legacy of interfaith dialogue and relationships.
