CHICAGO (Outlook) The Associated Church Press (ACP) honored magazines, newspapers, news services and websites at its annual conference April 26-28 in Chicago.
The Presbyterian Outlook was recognized for writing/reporting and online content at the ACP “Best of the Christian Press Awards” banquet on April 28, which honored faith communicators’ best work during 2016.
The Outlook received two Best in Class Awards for:
- National denominational magazine
- Online blog (the Outlook Outpost blog)
In the category of “professional resource,” the Outlook won for “Worshipping a creative God,” by Shawna Bowman, which was featured in the January 18, 2016 issue on art and worship in Presbyterian congregations.

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) media did well at this year’s awards. The Presbyterian News Service, General Assembly News Service, Presbyterians Today (the magazine published by the denomination in Louisville) and Horizons (the national magazine for Presbyterian Women) also received awards.
The ACP is a professional organization of member publications (of which the Outlook is one) “with a commitment to excellence in journalism as a means to describe, reflect and support the life of faith and the Christian community,” according to its mission statement.
