Celebrating Easter

Bremen-Bethel Presbyterian Church — Bremen, Ohio

What is right about my church is that although it is small and has experienced a decline in members and income over the last few years, we continue to minster in a meaningful way to the needs of our community.

Since the spring of 2013 our church has operated the “Breakfast to Go” program for our local elementary school. We provide a bag containing enough non-perishable food for two breakfasts each weekend (when free or reduced price school breakfasts and lunches are not available). We have received more then $20,000 in grants for this program. Any student who has parental permission may participate. There are currently 127 students participating. So far this school year, we’ve packed 3,229 bags!

We also provide prayer shawls to people experiencing health issues or difficult times. We prepare memory books for residents of local nursing homes as well as wooden crosses carved to be held easily by hand. We provide ongoing support to our local food pantry. Members gather to worship each week, warmly welcoming any guests who may be present. We provide love, prayers and support to each other as well as our community.
