Northside Presbyterian Church — Blacksburg, Virginia
We are small – no doubt about it – and we are older than we used to be. But being small and older does not stop Northside Presbyterian Church from doing God’s work in the community. Besides tithing our operating budget for mission, the church is involved in caring for our community. Our free Monday night suppers welcome anyone who is hungry for food or friendship, and over the past year and a half, quite a lovely little community has grown. We have formed bonds with people we might never have encountered, and we are grateful for that. Our “Reverse Advent Calendars” this year garnered many pounds of food for the local food pantry (for which we also purchase milk and eggs on a regular basis). We help support the campus ministry at Virginia Tech, feeding the students monthly. Northside loves feeding the hungry!
