A service of remembrance

During this time of social distancing, we are faced with the painful reality of being unable to gather for services of witness to the resurrection. It is in times of grief and mourning that we most want and need to be together — and there is no substitute for doing so. However, we still seek ways to share memories, support each other and celebrate the lives of those we love. We still need to worship. We still need to be reminded that our story is a part of God’s salvation story, no matter our current circumstances. We still need to bear witness to the resurrection. We still need to give thanks for the life of those whose baptism is now complete.

We recognize that coming together in cyberspace is not the same as joining for worship in our sanctuaries. Nonetheless, we pray that this service will provide a means of comfort and solace until such a time as we are able to safely be together in person. May the Spirit unite us, uphold us and support us, no matter where we are or how we gather.
