Tech watch: Google Workspace

Want to have one platform for email, communication and file storage for the church? Check out Google Workspace for nonprofits. Both churches I have served have taken advantage of the free Google account options for nonprofits. Simply apply for eligibility through Google (showing 501(c)(3) status) and Google will offer you a free domain name supported through Gmail (something like: pastor@churchname.com). It is especially helpful to line this up with the domain name on your website. But, a word of caution: choose carefully — the shorter and less required spelling, the better (don’t make anyone spell Presbyterian if you can help it!). You get 30 GB of storage per account user, free Google Meet (video meetings up to 100 users) and security and management controls. A nonprofit Google account allows you to share documents easily, access data from anywhere (with storage on the cloud) and share meetings through Google calendar.
