McLeod Memorial Presbyterian Church – Bartow, Florida

screen-shot-2016-11-07-at-3-20-10-pmWe started as a mission church and incorporated in 1946 as a Presbyterian congregation. Mission has been in our blood, so to speak, and over the years, we’ve sought ways to perform our mission heritage. Our strength has been to witness for Christ in word and need.

Our claim is to be “The Small Church with a Big Heart,” and so we are. This past year we raised nearly $10,000 in a 3-month period to benefit four designated mission projects. Yearly, we adopt needy families in our community for our Christmas Project. They receive gifts and dinner, based on our interviews, to fulfill their needs. Our youth are involved every Thanksgiving with filling baskets to accompany a turkey for families in need, selected from our community Church Service Center.

During the year, we give to our national missions and prepare a monthly warm meal for 60 to 70 shut-ins in our community, some of whom are our church members.

We believe God is using us to benefit others and we know this is the right thing to do for our Lord.
