A pastor was approached by a man who wished to become a member of the congregation. The man said, however, that he was very busy. “I don’t want to be called for any service such as committee work or singing in the choir. I would like to be spared from anything that would take my time. And I don’t expect to worship too often.” The minister thought a minute and said: “I think you’re at the wrong church. The church you are looking for is three blocks up the street.” Puzzled, the busy man walked away and thought: “I’ll show him. I’ll go to that church.” Three blocks down he came to a church — abandoned and boarded up.
