Martha has served as the director of finance and operations at Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis since 2006. She received her certified public accountant license from the state of Indiana in 1989 and currently maintains an active license. She was appointed to the Indiana State Board of Accountancy in 1997 by Governor Frank O’Bannon. She served on the Board for six years, including two terms as chair.
Martha is a member of the Indiana CPA Society where she is currently serving as a member of the Government Relations Advisory Council and the Advocacy Council. She was the recipient of the Society’s CPA Advocacy Award in 2007. She has served as treasurer for the Presbyterian Outlook board of directors since 2015.
Martha’s many professional accomplishments reveal her keen intelligence and deep commitment to excellence and service. Martha not only knows all things numbers, she patiently communicates her financial acumen to those more adept with manipulating words than figures. She has a quiet humor that makes others comfortable asking what otherwise might feel like dumb questions. Martha has been instrumental in making sure the Outlook’s financial house is in order and we are deeply grateful for her wisdom, grace and kindness.
Martha is married to Gary and has a young adult son, Will. When she is not crunching numbers, she is cheering on the Colts or swinging a golf club with ever increasing skill.
The Presbyterian Outlook Foundation is governed by a board of 15 directors. The Presbyterian Outlook is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3), funded through subscription sales, ad sales and donations.
