Zephyr Point | Zephyr Cove, Nevada
COVID-19 shut down much of what we previously took for granted, including the ability to gather in numbers at camps and conference centers around the country. Zephyr Point realized that the pandemic also shut down most in-person education at colleges and universities. In the fall of 2020, we hosted a 10-week “Tahoe Getaway Term” for college students looking to get out of their parents’ basement and form a safe, secure “pod” of like-minded students who would study, eat, sleep and play together in the High Sierra. It was a rousing success! Zephyr Point is now hosting a spring term, and we currently have 10 students sharing life together and experiencing the beauty of God’s creation.
This is just one example of how a Presbyterian camp and conference center is seeking to remain faithful and be creative in the midst of a pandemic.
