Ann Pipkin, who many years back was a mission co-worker in Brazil, sent this delightful tale: Quite a few years ago, several of us missionaries lived in the dormitory of Agnes Erskine School in Recife, where we taught. One day, I heard some of the younger children commenting. They said, “There is Miss Mason, Miss Taylor, Miss Dina and Miss Ann. What does Miss mean?” Another answered, “I think it’s a school word for missionary.”
