Staff spotlight: Jen Jones

Jen came on board as our art designer in 2017. While technically not part of the staff (she’s a contractor), Jen is a key member of our team. She is creative, flexible and joyful. Her redesign of the magazine garnered us a “Best Redesign” award in 2017 by the Associated Church Press.

Jen grew up in the church. She was born while her father was attending Union Theological Seminary (now Union Presbyterian Seminary) in Richmond, Virginia. From UPS to Camp Hanover, and from her church in Richmond (Second Pres) to the church her father retired from (Spencer Presbyterian), she’s found it quite the walk down memory lane as many places near and dear to her heart are included in the issues of Outlook.

Jen has a degree in communications as well as fine arts. She does freelance graphic design (jujubellycreative.com) along with photography, painting and mixed media (jenjones.art). She’s a lover of music, dance, hiking, animals, social justice, acts of kindness, lots of laughing and happiness in general. She, her husband Paul and their three dogs live in Waynesboro, Virginia. She has a studio at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center and is getting ready to join the session at her church where she’s excited to lead the mission committee.
