As 2016 draws to a close I am filled with gratitude for God’s blessings. I have the joy of working with faithful, dedicated colleagues, the gift of a committed board in this ministry with me and thoughtful, inspiring readers and writers who encourage me to dig deeper, be better and keep seeking the leadings of the Spirit for the Outlook. Thanks to all of you who have contributed to the Outlook this year – whether financially, with a comment or letter, a “what’s right with my church” submission, as a writer, reader or with your prayers. I am grateful.
You will see some changes at the Outlook in 2017. We are working hard to be good stewards of our resources and as a result we have cut expenses while still maintain the quality of the content we provide. We have moved to publishing a thicker magazine 18 times a year in order to give you just as much content while reducing printing and postage costs. In other words, we are doing all we can to be fiscally prudent as we continue to seek excellence in all we do. For example, the Outlook’s national reporter, Leslie Scanlon, was the only person covering the recent initial meeting of The Way Forward Commission.
Sending our staff to cover meetings, events and conferences is not cheap, however. Revenue from subscriptions and advertising sales is not enough to cover our operating expenses. Without your donations we will cease to exist. It is just that simple.
