Let us play

apce-participants-at-play.jpgLeave it to Christian educators – those in the church most engaged with younger children – to build a whole conference around the theme, “Let us Play.” Signs and placards dotted the campus of Orlando’s Doubletree Hotel and Conference Center in early February as the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators held its 2013 convention.

You know the expression: “We worship our work, work at our play, and play at our worship” (Gordon Dahl). While countless texts have been written on how better to worship and how better to work, a growing field of study is growing on how better to play. Accordingly, several hundred educators feasted on some of that scholarship and engaged in the fun of it all.
