UNITED METHODIST PUBLISHING
Beginnings: An Introduction to Christian Faith. It gives congregations the tools to create an inviting, welcoming experience where people can ask questions about the Christian faith, explore their walk with God, and form or deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Published by Abingdon Press, Beginnings was written by Andy Langford and Mark Ralls, with video resources by Rob Weber. The Christian Century notes, “The important question is not, ‘If you died tonight, do you know where you would go?’ but ‘If there’s a loving and creative God, why is the world so messy? How do I find purpose in it?’ To expect quick and tidy answers to prayer … is to treat God like a gumball machine. …Video segments and chapters alike begin with a story in which a character meets Jesus, told so that we identify with the character and meet Jesus in judgment and grace.” For more information, please visit www.beginnings.cokesbury.com , your local Cokesbury retailer, or call 1-800-672- 1789.
